Dress in plain purple cotton jersey. In addition to being fleecy, the material is brushed to keep it warmer and offer more softness. A long-sleeved dress with ribbed cuffs like a sweatshirt to which a gathered skirt has been added. A ruffled collar flares out over the shoulders, adding a touch of feminine whimsy. In the back, a button placket with wooden buttons lets you stick your head in without tearing your ears off. Have you seen the little gold heart embroidered on the skirt? What makes this dress special? A natural dye: it is piece-dyed, meaning that it is coloured when it is finished with mineral pigments that are so much less polluting. The dye takes on a slight patina with each wash, making this piece unique. There may be slight differences between pieces, as the dye is irregular.
