Short skirt in cotton with "dominotier" print on an almond green background. We love the "dominotier" print on an almond green background, exclusive to Emile et ida, designed by our stylist Jessica. This purple fruit pattern was inspired by her encounter with a hatbox covered with dominoté paper. Historically, dominoté paper was used for wall compositions: by assembling several motifs, domino makers created unique and custom-made decorations. Dominoes were also used as temporary covers for books awaiting binding. In the 18th century, domino makers engraved designs on wooden boards and printed them on sheets of rag paper using a manual wooden press.

A line of purple flowers, taken from the printed design, can be found under the band of smocks hand-embroidered by Indian craftsmen. The skirt is fastened at the side with natural mother-of-pearl buttons and a purple cotton twill ribbon. It is lined in almond green cotton voile.
